Picture it: You maintain an impeccable diet (most of the time;)). Exercise and sports are are regular part of your life. You are not too far from your healthy body weight. And yet you have one or two or three stubborn spots that refuse to cooperate. Maybe it’s the dreaded muffin top or the waddle under your arm in a sleveless blouse. Or you simply miss the curvy tummy you had not so long ago. So what is coolsculpting?
What is CoolSculpting?
We know it’s going to sound too good to be true, but get this: CoolSculpting (medical term: cryolipolysis) literally freezes and kills your fat cells.
Let’s back up for a minute, though
As a new born, the number of fat cells that you have is determined. This number doesn’t change as you age.Every person has a different, unique number of fat cells. It is a predisposition based on family genetics. We are all different. You will die with the same number of fat cells as the day you were born.
However, the size of fat cells increases or decreases, based on ones eating behaviors as well as their level of excercise, fitness and a bit of luck due to your genes.
We don’t gain or lose fat cells
While you might lose weight easily in one area of your body — like your face or arms — other areas might be stubborn, like your inner thighs. We all carry fat differently, and even with one person, every area of their body might be different. All the exercise in the world will not give a 60 year young woman a six pack. Sad but true. Makes you want to drink a six pack.
Six packs are made in the kitchen
If you exercise regularly and have a healthy diet, that’s great. But it will not achieve a flat pre-menopausal tummy. The only way that is going to happen is in the kitchen. And what I mean by that is, in order to get a lean sculpted body at my 50-ish young age. I would need to live on broccoli and chicken breast, egg whites and oatmeal. Or something similar, forever. Forget it.
A sensible diet is enough for great results
I don’t want to starve myself. I’ve stayed in shape. I’ve worked hard, and I deserve to eat real food. The sad honest facts are that a 50+ year young, man or woman will have to choose between having a sculpted body OR, eating the food you want. Real, wonderful, delicious, nutritous, varietal foods. Doesn’t seem fair. I mean I’ve worked out my entire life to stay in shape. And I want bread. Not alot, but some. And an occasional dessert. When I wear my little black dress I still want to turn a head or two. So stay with me and follow my CoolSculpting journey.
